The Car
A couple of years ago, my brother-in-law Wes asked me to help him with a mustang he was building.
At the time, it was a red 1985 Mustang GT loaded with aftermarket parts.
That was, until some high school girl missed a light and got T-Boned, which totalled the mustang.

After rounds with the insurance company, they decided to not only send Wes a check for the car, but give him the wrecked car also.So the search began for another body to transfer all the high performance parts.
The search ended a couple weeks later when Wes found a 1986 Mustang already built for the strip but with no engine or tranny.
A year passed before we finally finished the first build which was quite a car.
Recently though, Wes decided to tear down a completely fine engine in his hunger for horsepower so he sent things in for balancing and added high performance parts ranging from a Scat crank, Venolia pistons with Mahley rings pushing 11:1 compression to AFR heads and 1.7 Competition Cams roller rockers with longer pushrods adding lift to the Trick Flow camshaft as .610 on the intake and .632 on exaust.A number of other name brand aftermarket parts with a Holley AED 750 sitting atop the Parker Funnel Web intake puts plenty of torque and horsepower to the Hawks flywheel and Zoom clutch.

The car is still sitting in the garage as we put some finishing touches and final parts but you can view the attached video showing a first glimpse. In the attached video (see video below blog) you can hear the lope of the heavy cam and we expect a bit more when the rockers are fully adjusted.
There are so many unmentioned racing parts in this car and I expect some safety additions will be required before it can run the track.
When Wes takes it out to the street, I'll post a burnout video.
10 second car, for sure, but can he reach 9's?
