Thank you Georgia Tech!! After the Yellow Jackets knocked off the Miami Hurricanes, the door reopens for the Hokies, and Virginia Tech once again has control of its own destiny in the wild and wacky ACC. If VT takes care of business in the next two weeks at home, then the Hokies will earn a trip to Tampa for the ACC championship. However, the vastly improved Duke Blue Devils will have a great incentive in this week's game as well. Duke needs to win their next two games to become bowl eligible. So, what are the keys to this now critical contest? more >>

Jeff Allen scored what appeared to be the game-winning basket with 1.8 seconds remaining, but Dante Jackson's halfcourt shot at the buzzer banked in, giving Xavier a 63-62 overtime victory over Virginia Tech. The Hokies will return to action on Sunday, when they play the loser of the Memphis-Seton Hall game at 5pm on ESPNU. more >>
6-4, 180-pound Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA) guard Ben Boggs signed a letter of intent last week, officially accepting a scholarship to play for head coach Seth Greenberg. It was a special day for Boggs, who verbally committed to Virginia Tech a little over a year ago. more >>
The ACC is a jumbled mess right now. Four teams are still in contention for the Atlantic Division crown, while five teams still have aspirations of representing the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship Game. However, there are three teams that control their own destiny: Maryland, Boston College and Virginia Tech. more >>
Virginia Tech's fifth recruit of the 2009 recruiting class certainly has experience playing for high profile programs. Lamont "Mo-Mo" Jones has played for Rice High School in New York, American Christian (Aston, PA) and now Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA). It is this experience, coupled with ability, of course, that may enable Jones to be an immediate contributor for the Hokies in 2009. more >>

A.D. Vassallo made a big splash in his return to his home, scoring 24 points as Virginia Tech knocked off Fairfield 74-57 in the quarterfinals of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Hokies are now 3-0 on the season, and they'll play Xavier tomorrow. more >>
At 6-7, 315 pounds, Bertie (Windsor, N.C.) star senior Travis Bond shouldn't be hard to spot when he attends Virginia Tech's home football game against Duke this weekend. The offensive tackle/defensive lineman prospect plans to be in Blacksburg on an official visit, which will be his first ever experience at Virginia Tech. more >>
Multiple sources, including an article on Scout.com, are reporting that Virginia Tech has gained a verbal commitment from 5-11, 180-pound guard Lamont "Mo Mo" Jones, a senior out of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.
